" Nathalie Beaux nous offre ici un véritable triptyque en trois couleurs, une triple narration où le temps et l'espace s'amenuisent et où s'interpénètrent les trois temps de l'histoire du salut : Jésus au cœur de la Montagne –; Moïse et le Buisson Ardent –; l'actualité de la Montagne Sainte. Cette actualité est développée dans un second temps à travers le récit d'un moine et l'évocation de vestiges archéologiques ("Ermitages d'hier et d'aujourd'hui au Sinaï"). De très nombreuses photographies d'excellente qualité jalonnent le récit et contribuent à offrir au lecteur une vision plus fidèle des lieux saints. Très judicieusement, l'auteur clôt l'ouvrage par un très riche appendice ("À la source") dans lequel le lecteur pourra retrouver avec profit les passages bibliques et patristiques les plus importants sur Moïse et Élie à l'Horeb et au Thabor, ainsi que des indications biographiques sur les saints du Sinaï que furent sainte Catherine, saints Galaction et Épistémée et saint Jean Climaque.
