Motivation is an inner drive that prompts individuals to work to achieve organizational set targtes. Many scholars such as Skinner, Maslow, Herzberg, Vroom, Campfield and Douglas McGregor have written on motivation. The purpose of study is not to discuss all the relevant theories of motivation but focuses on Herzberg's two-sets theory of motivation. Herzberg examined elements in job that make employees satisfied or disatisfied. The study applied the dual theory to the management of Makerere University Academic Staffs in Uganda.
