Georg Böhm, born in Hohenkirchen near Erfurt in 1661, died in Lüneburg in 1733, is one of the great masters of the North German Organ School. His works are very popular, and rightly so, and have become permanent fixtures in organ concerts and church services. Our new edition contains three preludes and 20 choral arrangements and follows exactly the original text as well as the current state of organological research. The works, recorded in the so-called 'letter tablature', have been carefully transcribed into modern notation so that the original articulation and rhythm notation remain unchanged. Thus, the edition provides the player with all information needed for a responsible historical performance practice. Important new publication for all organists and organ teachers! A leaflet containing all works in the series 'Meister der Norddeutschen Orgelschule' [Masters of the North German Organ School] is available at No. KAT 3151-99. Instrumentation: organ
